London, 21 July 2025: Franklin Templeton announced today that Michael Browne, Chief Investment Officer at Martin Currie, has transitioned into a new role as Global Investment Strategist, Franklin Templeton Institute. Based in London, Mike will be responsible for developing and delivering research-driven market insights for clients and investors in the UK and Europe primarily. In this newly created role, he will conduct independent research, present at industry conferences and webinars and engage directly with key partners and clients to help them navigate the financial markets. He reports to Stephen Dover, Chief Market Strategist and Head of the Franklin Templeton Institute.

Mike brings almost 40 years of experience at the highest level in Investment Management and shares his expertise through clear and insightful conversations. As Chief Investment Officer at Martin Currie, part of the Franklin Templeton group, he oversaw all the firm’s investment teams and provided insight and leadership on strategic initiatives. Before joining Martin Currie in 2010, Mike worked for BZW Investment Management and Chase Asset Management, where he launched their first hedge fund. In 2001 he moved to Sofaer Capital where he founded a successful and award-winning equity long-short fund.

The Franklin Templeton Institute serves as a centre of excellence to harness the firm’s global investment expertise and extensive in-house research capabilities.
