Austin Childs

Austin Childs is a principal data scientist and senior research analyst for Franklin Templeton. Austin leads the technical development of quantitative investment strategies for the Digital Lending and Listed Token Strategies teams. He oversees data engineering, machine learning model development, and deployment of automated trading systems. Austin also manages front end relationships with FinTech platform partners and integrates infrastructure solutions for performance, reporting, compliance, and other internal teams.

Austin has over 14 years of combined investment and data science experience. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2019, he spent time building recommendation systems, natural language processing, and other artificial intelligence-based solutions in venture capital, healthcare, and real estate.

Austin holds a bachelor of science in both statistics and mathematics from Purdue University. He also holds a master of science in statistics from Stanford University.
