Carlos Ortiz

Carlos Ortiz is a vice president and research analyst for Franklin Templeton Fixed Income - Global Sovereign and Emerging Markets Debt in London, United Kingdom. Mr. Ortiz is responsible for providing coverage on a wide range of emerging market sovereigns, quasi-sovereigns, and corporate securities in both hard and local currency, with a special focus on Latin America, and frontier CEE.

Mr. Ortiz has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is also a member of the Fixed Income Research and Strategy Team (FIRST), which sets broad fixed income strategy at Franklin Templeton.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Ortiz was an economist and strategist for the CIB division of UniCredit Bank. He also was previously with Moody's Investors and the European Commission. Mr. Ortiz joined Franklin Templeton in 2015 as an international fixed income research analyst.

Mr. Ortiz holds a bachelor of science in economics from the University of Warwick (First Class Honours) and a masters of science in economics from the London School of Economics (LSE).
