Michael Chu

Michael Chu is a vice president, executive director with equity research responsibilities for companies in China and Hong Kong, with an emphasis on financial institutions.

Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2017, Mr Chu was at HSBC Global Research Hong Kong for 7 years as a Director and the Banks & Microfinance Analyst.

Mr Chu holds a B.S in Quantitative Finance with Honors from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. He is a native speaker of Mandarin and Shanghainese, fluent in Cantonese and English, and also speaks Japanese.
