Sam Cottrell, CFA

Sam Cottrell is a Portfolio Manager on the Global Long-Term Unconstrained strategy team at Franklin Equity Group. He serves as coordinator of data analytics within the team, alongside Jonny Regan, as well as coordinator of research alongside Robbie, and also provides research coverage of the healthcare sector.

Mr. Cottrell joined Martin Currie as an Associate Investment Analyst in 2014 and transitioned to the Long-Term Unconstrained team in 2015. He served as a healthcare research analyst before becoming a portfolio manager in 2020.

A former international rower, Mr. Cottrell holds a MSc in Financial Engineering and Risk from Imperial College London, and a B.A. (Hons) in finance, accounting and management from the University of Nottingham. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
